Reading the list
- Under $1,000: blankets (MiHIGH, HigherDOSE, Hydragun) and SaunaBox's portables. Not cabins; a way to try infrared heat.
- $1,000-$3,000: entry cabins from JNH, portables from Relax Sauna and Therasage. 120V plug-in, one-year-ish warranties.
- $3,500-$8,000: the sweet spot. Full-spectrum two- and three-person cabins from Sun Home, Relaxe, Peak, Health Mate and Sunlighten's Signature line, with real warranties and published EMF testing.
- $8,000+: Clearlight Sanctuary, Sunlighten mPulse, outdoor models, four-person and up.
What separates a $3,000 cabin from a $7,000 one
Full-spectrum heaters (near and mid infrared added to far), thicker and better wood, third-party EMF testing, glass quality, a real touchscreen, red light panels, and a warranty measured in years rather than months. Whether that's worth it to you: full spectrum vs far infrared and warranties compared.
Infrared brands sold through retailers
Golden Designs (Dynamic, Maxxus) at Costco, Home Depot and Sam's Club; Finnmark through Topture; Medical Saunas direct but without an affiliate program; a long tail of Amazon brands with no warranty contact worth relying on.

Sauna for sale near me: where to see one in person
Most saunas are bought online and delivered by freight, but if you want to sit in one first, these are the places that exist in most of the US:
- Sunlighten showrooms. The only premium infrared brand with its own showrooms, in a few dozen metro areas. Check Sunlighten for the locator.
- Costco. Sells Almost Heaven cedar barrels and Golden Designs (Dynamic) infrared cabins, online and sometimes on the floor in larger warehouses. Costco's return policy is the most generous you'll find on a sauna.
- Home Depot, Lowe's, Sam's Club. Budget infrared cabins (Dynamic, Maxxus, SunRay) online with store pickup; rarely displayed in store.
- Hot tub and pool dealers. Many carry Finnleo, Finlandia, Helo or Harvia traditional saunas and a line of infrared. Search "hot tub dealer" plus your city; call and ask what sauna brands they display.
- Sauna builders. In the upper Midwest, Pacific Northwest and New England, local companies build custom traditional saunas and often have a demo unit.
- Gyms, spas and bathhouses. The cheapest way to feel traditional heat before buying. A $30 day pass answers "do I like this?" better than any showroom.
Once you've decided, prices are almost always lower buying direct from the brand online; see online vs in person.
