Where HigherDOSE is better
- Build and feel. Thicker, more padded, a nicer exterior, Velcro that holds up. It's the blanket you see in studios and the one reviewers call the most comfortable.
- Brand support. A larger company with responsive customer service and a track record since 2016, which matters when a controller dies in month eleven.
- Accessories. Insert towels, a bag and a line of other products if you care.
Where MiHIGH is better
- Price. Half the cost for the same basic function: far-infrared carbon heaters, waterproof lining, timer and temperature control.
- Peak heat. Claims a higher maximum; in practice both get you sweating heavily within 15-20 minutes.
Where they're the same
Both are far-infrared blankets you lie in for 30-45 minutes with your head out. Both reach a hard sweat. Both have one-year-ish warranties and 30-day returns. Both are a sweat and a wind-down, not a sauna you sit in; see what a sauna blanket is and isn't. Neither will change your weight beyond water (here's why).
Which to buy
- Trying infrared to see if you like it, budget matters: MiHIGH. If you use it four nights a week for three months, you've learned what you needed for $349.
- You already know you'll use it most days and want it to last: HigherDOSE. The build difference shows up around month six.
- Either way, buy a cotton insert or use a long-sleeve layer and a towel; it keeps the blanket clean and extends its life. How to use and clean one.
Other options: Hydragun's HeatPod 2 ($599) sits between them; Sunlighten and Therasage also make blankets at the premium end. Brand pages: HigherDOSE, MiHIGH, Hydragun.
