Our picks
- Best overall value: Mito Red Light. Wide range, modular panels, 60-day returns.
- Best high output: PlatinumLED BioMax. Strong panels with a 3-year warranty.
- Best budget: Hooga. Simple, effective, cheap.
- Most wavelength control: Rouge G4 Pro, with eight wavelengths you can switch individually.
- Premium name: Joovv, if brand and build quality matter more than price.
What to look for
- Wavelengths. 660nm red and 850nm near-infrared cover most of the research. More wavelengths isn't automatically better.
- Irradiance (power at the skin). Brands measure this differently and some inflate it. Independent tests are more reliable than spec sheets.
- Coverage. A small panel treats a face or a knee. Full-body means a tall panel or two stacked.
- Flicker and EMF. Look for published measurements.
- Returns and warranty. 60-day trials and 2-3 year warranties are standard among good brands; watch for restocking fees.
- Eye protection. Use the goggles. Near-infrared is invisible but still bright.
