Where to buy a sauna

You can buy the same sauna in very different ways. Here's what each route gets you.

Direct from the brand

Most infrared brands, including Sunlighten, Clearlight, Sun Home and Peak, sell mainly from their own websites. Buying direct usually gets you the full warranty, the brand's own support team, financing and any current promotion. It's the simplest route for one specific brand.

Authorized online retailers

Retailers carry several brands in one place, which makes comparison easier, and some match prices or add perks. Make sure the retailer is authorized, or the manufacturer may not honor the warranty.

Big-box stores and marketplaces

Costco, Sam's Club, Home Depot, Wayfair and Amazon sell budget infrared cabins (Golden Designs/Dynamic, JNH) and some cedar barrels (Almost Heaven). Prices are low and returns can be easy, but model choice is narrower and support goes through the store first.

Local dealers

Traditional brands like Finnleo sell through local dealers who can install, wire and service the sauna. Expect to pay more, and expect better help with custom or built-in rooms.

Buying used

Used saunas show up on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist for a fraction of retail. Check for cracked emitters, water damage and the heater's age, and know that the warranty almost never transfers. Moving a cabin means taking it apart, so ask the seller to do that with you.
